Microsoft - The Future of Data - Water for Good

Working with the Office Team at Microsoft, I edited this video as well as helped to craft the narrative.

Part of the challenge was weaving together footage from different sources, shot with different cameras, and in multiple locations. These had to tie together with the interview to achieve the goal of showing how data is helping to bring water to communities throughout Africa.

Capturing alpha gameplay footage, I cut together this launch trailer for the game Hot Brass. It highlights the different gameplay modes and themes of the game. This trailer is featured on the Steam page for the game.

The Big History Project

I worked with BGC3 to edit this piece for use in promoting the Big History Project. Using interview footage BGC3 shot, combined with stock footage and original animations, we created a short story about the course, not only from the point of view of it's proponents, but also from the kids who have actually experienced the lesson plan.

Graphite - A BGC3 Initiative

Working with BGC3 and Common Sense Media, we put together an educational and promotional video for Graphite.org, a platform created to make it easier for educators to find the best apps, games, and websites for the classroom. I edited the entire video and, in conjunction with a team at BGC3, created the animated graphics.

PayPal - Bonanza

This video was created for PayPal's Leaders Day Conference and was used to present a new product for PayPal called Bonanza. The concept was to bridge the financial gap between banking for business and an individual.

One challenge was to not have overly complex title cards or a voiceover to explain the features. Actors were brought in to represent the user base on a more personal level with the use of hand painted title cards. The video, from concept to presentation, was a short 6 week production.

KiOR - Fuel without Fossils

An explanatory video about the company KiOR that is creating fuel from bio-mass. Made in conjunction with Bill Gates for his Gates Notes website.

Undying - Kickstarter Pitch Video

In order for Kickstarter projects to be successful, a good video is a necessity. I was asked by Paul Riddle to create this video for his role-playing game Undying's crowdfunded book release. The campaign was a smashing success, earning over $30,000 from 820 backers.

A Mother's Story: Pneumonia Vaccine in The Gambia

Per The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation: "This inspiring video tells the story of a mother from The Gambia who loses her child to pneumonia. She then rallies her village to participate in a vaccine trial to ensure all children in her community could have access to a life-saving pneumonia vaccine."

After working on the fan-film Star Trek: Phoenix, a large portion of that team got back together to make an original short-film - Fearless Episode hunters. Locations were spread across Seattle including the iconic Comics Dungeons in Wallingford.

Star Trek: Phoenix

In 2008, I joined a crew of local filmmakers and Star Trek fans in Seattle to work on a 2-year, fan-made Star Trek production. I started as just a Visual Effects Designer but eventually became the Visual Effects Supervisor and Editor, overseeing the work of a few people spread around the country. The short-film made its debut in 2010.
